Armour Backups Privacy Policy

This privacy policy governs the use and disclosure of information collected by Armour Backups (Armour Backups) Pty Ltd ACN 155 021 060.

Encrytion Key Security

Armour Backups collects and maintains data that is transmitted and stored in an encrypted format. The encryption key is required to restore any data. Normally, the encryption key is created and stored by the client and Armour Backups does not have access to the encryption key. Since the data is unrecoverable without this key Armour Backups also offers a service to store the client’s encryption key on the client’s behalf. This is an optional service and if it is of interest to the client they should contact support@armourbackups.com.au. If the client chooses to have the encryption key stored by Armour Backups, under no circumstances will the encryption key be accessed, except in the event that the client requests the key to in order to restore their data. In this case a written request will be required from the client to confirm their identity.

Registration information

Armour Backups collects and maintains the following personal information about its customers:

• Customer Name/Contact
• Company Name (If applicable)
• Postal Address / Physical Address (If applicable)
• Telephone Number(s)
• Email Address
• Credit Card or Bank Account details (If applicable)
• Company ABN (If applicable)

The above information will be collected with your knowledge and participation. If you choose not to provide this information, Armour Backups may decline to accept your registration for use of the Armour Backups products. It will not be possible for you to deal with Armour Backups anonymously.

Purposes for which information is collected

Your personal information is used for the following:

• Account creation and management
• Billing and account enquiries
• Sales support and technical support
• Product information and upgrade promotion

Personal Information & Security

Armour Backups will always endeavour to keep your personal information as secure as reasonably possible. Without limitation, customer information is not accessible over the Internet.

Armour Backups will not collect information revealing your racial or ethnic origin, political opinions, religious or philosophical beliefs, trade-union membership, or details of health, disability or sexual activity or orientation, unless compelled to do so by law.

Disclosure of your information

Personal information may be disclosed in the following circumstances:

• To authorised officers of Armour Backups for the ability to provide the products and services to you.
• Mailing addresses may be disclosed to postal or courier/freight companies for purpose of physical transportation or mailing of equipment, (no financial information will be disclosed).
• Administering credit collection purposes.
• As required to third party suppliers who may provide Armour Backups with storage and server facilities for the purpose of providing the products and services

Unless required by law Armour Backups will never willingly disclose individually identifiable data about our customers to any third party without first receiving that customer's permission.

Demographic information (such as postcodes) may be disclosed for research so long as the information is unable to identify you or any other individual.

Amendments to Privacy Policy

Armour Backups may amend its privacy policy at any time and where possible will inform its clients of the amendments in writing 90 days before the amendment is taken into effect. Where it is not possible to provide 90 day written notice Armour Backups will publish a notice at the homepage of its website (www.armourbackups.com.au) and leave such notice at the home page for no less than 7 days.
