Armour Backups collects and maintains data that is transmitted and stored in an encrypted format. The encryption key is required to restore any data. Normally, the encryption key is created and stored by the client and Armour Backups does not have access to the encryption key. Since the data is unrecoverable without this key Armour Backups also offers a service to store the client’s encryption key on the client’s behalf. This is an optional service and if it is of interest to the client they should contact support@armourbackups.com.au. If the client chooses to have the encryption key stored by Armour Backups, under no circumstances will the encryption key be accessed, except in the event that the client requests the key to in order to restore their data. In this case a written request will be required from the client to confirm their identity.
